Let's get this party started....kinda.

So while I might not be in Thailand quite yet (t-minus 23 days and one shot of Japanese Encephalitis), I figured that the summer in Colorado might serve as a fun starting point. Also, it'll be a nice test run for the blog site, photos, etc...

After finishing up a great school year in Phoenix, AZ, I packed up everything I own in my Accord and drove to Steamboat Springs, CO, to work at Poulter Camps, an outdoor adventure camp. I haven't yet decided if being able to fit everything I own in my car is lame or cool, but we'll go with cool for now. Nonetheless, I spent a great two months backpacking through the Rockies, namely the Mt. Zirkl Wilderness which is in the northern part of the state, practically part of Wyoming. The groups were mostly 14-16 year olds who I led with an awesome counselor, Lauren. Aside from being an awesome leader, Lauren also had an awesome dog, Monty, who spent most of the summer on one of two things: the trail or my sleeping pad. Poulter Camps was a great place to work and I hope to return there in the future.

From Colorado it was on to New York where I lay now, packing for Thailand, eating my mom's chocolate cookies, and swimming for hours on par with Michael Phelps, only I'm driven by boredom and not so much by world records. I hope you enjoy the photos and the next entry will be from Thailand!
